Elian strengthens Guernsey funds team

Elian has strengthened its fund services team in Guernsey with two new appointments and a senior promotion.

Kees Jager has joined Elian as an associate director and will lead the local Fund Services team.  Working closely with Jager, Leasa Callaway has been promoted to manager and Sally Ann Brehaut has joined the firm as an assistant manager – compliance.

“Elian is building a reputation as a progressive and exciting firm, with a very bright future,” says Tom Amy, managing director of Elian in Guernsey. “We are always looking to strengthen our teams, to further enhance the service we offer to our clients. Leasa has shown great passion and commitment to the firm since arriving in 2011 and her promotion is very well deserved.  Kees provides Elian with significant investment fund experience and alongside leading the client-facing team, we will be very active in attracting new fund manager relationships to Elian.  Sally Ann's skills and prior responsibilities ensure we continue to put compliance at the forefront of business. I would like to welcome Sally Ann and Kees to Elian.”

Jager, who was educated at Elizabeth College and the University of Brighton, has more than 15 years’ experience in the Guernsey fund industry. He previously led a team of 16 at Northern Trust and has held various directorships spanning all aspects of fund structures.

“I have been able to gain invaluable experience of building and leading a successful administration team and managed to develop, train and motivate that team to achieve its business objectives,” says Jager.

‘I am looking forward to working with the current administration team and management to establish Elian as the preferred solution for existing and new business in Guernsey.’

Callaway has more than 20 years’ experience in the fund industry, having worked previously at Heritage, Northern Trust and Bachmann Fund Administration. She joined Elian four years ago as an associate and her clients include real estate, private equity and infrastructure fund managers.

‘I will be looking to further enhance the high level of client services already being provided to our clients and will strive to ensure that every team member maximises their potential,’ she says.

Brehaut joins Elian from Heritage, where she spent eight years working as a compliance officer and money laundering reporting officer. She has spent more than 20 years working in compliance and company secretarial administration.

Brehaut said she was looking forward to working for a fast growing company, striving to establish itself as a market leader.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Elian; there is huge element of satisfaction in being part of a valued team which is contributing to the development and growth of the business.”
