Baker McKenzie adds three to London office

Three new partners are joining Baker McKenzie's M&A and private equity practices in London.

This is a continuation of the firm’s 2020 strategy to increase bench strength in London in M&A, private equity, banking and finance and double headcount in New York.

David Duncan joins from Allen & Overy as an M&A partner focussed on the energy, mining and infrastructure (EMI) industry vertical. He has extensive expertise of working on complex M&A deals and joint venture transactions for many of the key global players in the EMI sector.

Melanie Howard joins from Clifford Chance, also as an M&A partner. She has a broad practice and has played a leading role in many of the most significant take private transactions in the City. She will be working closely with Jane Hobson, head of the M&A team, to bolster the healthcare practice.

Alex Lewis joins from Ropes & Gray as a partner in the private equity team.

Alex Chadwick, London managing partner, says: "We are delighted to welcome Alex, David and Melanie to the firm. Their combined expertise and experience will continue to strengthen our offerings to our clients in the transactional space, a key area of growth for the London office and in line with the firm's global objective to increase headcount in London. With the deep knowledge of key industry sectors and extensive deals experience, Melanie, David and Alex will be great assets to their individual teams and the office as a whole."
