Paul Brooks has joined the management board of Bank of Scotland’s Integrated Finance division as a Non Executive Director. Brooks will be working alongside Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance’s senior management team to provide independent strategic advice on the division’s growing investment business.

Brooks brings with him a wealth of experience in private company investing having spent 30 years in the venture capital and private equity industry. He began his career in 1977 with 3i plc, before joining Charterhouse where he became Marketing Director. In 1986, he joined the Prudential before taking up the post of CEO at PPM Capital, its private equity business which became one of the UK’s leading buy-out investors. After nearly 20 years in the industry, Brooks decided to leave full-time private equity investment to concentrate on managing his own investment portfolio.

Brooks brings with him extensive experience of the non-executive director role, having held a number of non-executive directorships with private and listed companies, as well as in the voluntary sector. He spent seven years as a non-executive director and then Chairman of Gresham, a leading UK mid-market private equity house, and has also held non-executive directorships with Parallel Private Equity and Moorfield Group.

Brooks is a founding director of Fulcrum Partners, which specialises in the provision of training to the international private equity industry, and also holds the position of Special Lecturer in the School of Management & Finance at the University of Nottingham.

Commenting upon the appointment, Mark Hammond, Head of Integrated Finance said: "I’m delighted to welcome Paul on board to help shape our business for the future and support our growth ambitions. Paul’s experience of the non-executive director role, coupled with his experience within the private equity industry, will prove invaluable to Integrated Finance’s senior management team as we look to build upon the success already achieved by the business."

Brooks commented: ‘Bank of Scotland’s Integrated Finance division provides innovative and highly competitive solutions to the financing of buy-outs which appeal particularly to management teams. This has resulted in the business achieving a significant and growing market share in a highly competitive market place. I’m delighted to have been invited to join the business and share with it my experience as Integrated Finance embarks on the next phase of its ambitious growth plans.’
