Prior to that he held chief executive positions at Trelleborg, PLM, Trelleborg Industrier and Boliden Kemi.

He has been involved with Candover’s Nordic portfolio since 2004, initially as chairman of Thule, a branded goods company which was sold to Nordic Capital in 2007, and from 2007 as chairman of Hilding Anders, a mattress and bed manufacturer active in Europe and Asia.

‘We are delighted to be working more closely with Fredrik at this point in the cycle,’ says Candover managing director John Arney. ‘His commercial track record, leadership experience and Nordic contact base will be invaluable to Candover as we seek to extend our reach in the region.’

Arp adds: ‘Candover has built a first class reputation in the Nordic region as demonstrated through its extensive network and deal flow to date. With a new fund under its belt, Candover is well positioned to take advantage of buying opportunities that will no doubt emerge in the region over the next 18 months or so, and I am looking forward to using my expertise and network to work with the team to identify exciting investment opportunities.’
