Lloyds TSB Development Capital appoints managing director in Hong Kong

Lloyds TSB Development Capital, the private equity arm of the Lloyds Banking Group, has appointed Craig Wilkinson, previously an investment director at LDC Leeds, as a managing director

Lloyds TSB Development Capital, the private equity arm of the Lloyds Banking Group, has appointed Craig Wilkinson, previously an investment director at LDC Leeds, as a managing director to run its recently-established Hong Kong office.

LDC’s Hong Kong operation has been established with a remit to build local contacts and capabilities in the region that can be used to support the expansion and development of LDC’s existing UK portfolio companies, but also has plans to develop a direct investment capability over the medium term.

Wilkinson joined LDC in 2002 from Rothschild where he was actively involved in the structuring of LBOs and in new business development.

Prior to joining Rothschild, Wilkinson worked with the Bank of Scotland in its regional structured finance team. He has considerable experience in transacting LBOs. He has actively participated in LDC investments into a number of businesses including Aesica Pharmaceuticals, MB Aerospace, Software Solutions Partners, Sportswift and Volvox Group.

Darryl Eales, chief executive of LDC, says: ‘I am delighted that Craig has agreed to take on the role of Managing Director of our new Hong Kong office. Craig has a proven track record in the UK private equity market and will have the full support of the business behind him as he begins the task of building our team for the Asian market’

Wilkinson will be joined in Hong Kong by Naveen Khugputh currently an investment manager in LDC’s London Office.
