Alinda Capital Partners to Invest in agri.capital Group SA

Investment funds managed by Alinda Capital Partners are to invest over EUR300 million in agri.capital over the next three years to fund the anticipated growth of the business. As part of the transaction, Alinda will acquire a majority interest in agri.capital. The company’s existing common equity investors and certain other early-stage investors will continue to participate in the ownership of the business.

agri.capital is the leading biogas and biomethane company in Europe. The company is headquartered in Luxembourg, with operations throughout Germany.  Today, agri.capital controls over 400 gigawatt-hours per year equivalent of capacity in operation or construction at more than 60 project sites.  The company has significant expansion opportunities in Germany as well as Italy, in addition to longer-term expansion opportunities throughout Europe.   For more information about the company, see www.agri-capital.de.

“We are pleased to partner with the market leading platform company and the leading management team for biogas and biomethane in Europe,” says Alinda’s Managing Partner, Chris Beale.  “With capital from Alinda, agri.capital is poised for tremendous growth.  Biogas and biomethane are becoming increasingly important components of renewable energy in Europe, as evidenced by strong regulatory support in Germany and Italy, and emerging feed-in tariff structures in countries such as France and the UK.”
