Zolfo Cooper opens Hong Kong office

Advisory and restructuring solutions provider Zolfo Cooper has opened an office in Hong Kong.

Led by Bruno Arboit, the office will provide a full range of restructuring, insolvency, forensic accounting and litigation support services to clients with interests in Hong Kong and mainland China.

The new office will be the first Zolfo Cooper branded operation in Asia-Pacific and complements a long standing affiliation with Ferrier Hodgson across the region.

Arboit joins Zolfo Cooper Hong Kong with over 16 years’ experience in the local market, most recently running his own advisory and restructuring practice. To support the launch of the new office, he will be joined by Gwynn Hopkins and Lillian Zhang. Hopkins is a partner in Zolfo Cooper Caribbean, specialising in complex, international advisory and restructuring assignments. Zhang joins as a managing director based in Shanghai and has more than 13 years’ experience in corporate recovery, financial due diligence and forensic accounting in both Australia and the Greater China region.

Arboit says: “I’m delighted to be leading Zolfo Cooper’s efforts in this important and dynamic territory. The Zolfo Cooper name is recognised internationally for providing the very highest quality of advice and client satisfaction and I’m excited by the opportunity to contribute to this while working closely alongside my colleagues in the United States, Europe and The Caribbean.”

Simon Freakley, CEO of Zolfo Cooper Europe, says: “Hong Kong and mainland China are key markets for our services and their importance continues to grow. We welcome Bruno to Zolfo Cooper and look forward to working with him, Lillian and Gwynn alongside our partners at Ferrier Hodgson as the practice grows.”
