YFM Equity Partners’ British Smaller Companies appoints Non-Executive Director

YFM Equity Partners’ (YFM) British Smaller Companies VCT (BSC) has appointed Rupert Cook as an independent non-executive director.


Cook specialises in corporate and business development, with twenty five years’ experience of technology, sales, marketing and general management, including fifteen years in corporate finance and investment. Earlier in his career, he was a senior manager at Cap Gemini plc and then Director of Advisory Services at Interregnum plc. 

 
Cook is the founder of Red Penguin Ventures Limited, and was previously a partner at Realise Capital Partners LLP, both of which are firms which advise and invest in a range of technology businesses. He is also a partner in MKRC Ventures, which has made eight investments in early-stage technology businesses since 2014. 


 
Cook also became Chairman of BSC’s Investment Committee upon his appointment to the Board. Commenting on his appointment, David Hall, Managing Director of YFM says: “Rupert brings a wealth of experience working with smaller companies, with a keen focus on a variety of technology sectors. His expertise will be invaluable as the Company invests in earlier stage businesses.”
