TPG Capital closes acquisition of Transplace

TPG Capital, the global private equity platform of alternative asset firm TPG, has closed its previously announced acquisition of Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology.

On 14 August, 2017, TPG Capital announced that it was partnering with company management to purchase Transplace from Greenbriar Equity Group. Founded in 2000, Transplace is North America’s premier provider of managed transportation, consulting, and TMS solutions; and intermodal, truck brokerage, and cross-border trade services.

Transplace marks TPG Capital’s third investment into the supply chain space. The firm’s other investments include LLamasoft, a supply chain modelling and design software provider that helps companies improve service, reduce cost, and mitigate risk, and Transporeon, a cloud-based logistics platform that offers various connectivity-focused applications for the different stages of freight execution.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal counsel to TPG. Goldman Sachs & Co, JP Morgan Securities, Barclays, Deutsche Bank Securities, KeyBanc, and RBC Capital Markets acted as financial advisors to TPG.
