Cavendish names new partner

Sell-side M&A advisor firm Cavendish Corporate Finance has promoted corporate finance professional Jon Edirmanasinghe to Partner.

Edirmanasinghe covers a variety of sectors having completed transactions across TMT, Consumer, Healthcare, Financial Services and Business Services. He joined Cavendish in October 2013 as an Executive and his promotion to Partner just four years later is a testament to the outstanding quality of his work and performance in this time.

Prior to joining Cavendish, Edirmanasinghe was a Manager at Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Office in the Cayman Islands for three years, focusing on the hedge fund and private equity sectors. His previous experience includes four years as a Senior Associate at Deloitte Canada working across sectors in various functions within the firm.

Edirmanasinghe graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Entrepreneurship from the University of Manitoba in 2006 and later qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant in 2008. He then went on to complete an MBA at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2013, where he graduated with distinction.

The most recent transactions Edirmanasinghe has participated in include the agreed offer for Zenith Hygiene Group plc, the sale of PSG Connect to Property Information Exchange, the sale of Rapidscan to GE Healthcare and the sale of Periproducts to Venture Life Group.

Lord Leigh of Hurley, Co-Founder and Senior Partner at Cavendish, says: “We are delighted to announce the promotion of Jon to Partner. He is an extremely able corporate finance practitioner who combines excellent strong commercial deal awareness with tenacity and technical expertise. In particular, his international experience means he has a strong understanding of cross border M&A, which is one of Cavendish’ core strengths.

“Our activity in the mid-market remains strong, having recently reported three transactions with a combined enterprise value in excess of GBP200m in the last three months. With the support of all our Partners we are well-positioned to capitalise on emerging M&A opportunities and securing the best price on sale we can for our entrepreneur and business clients.”

Edirmanasinghe says: “I am very pleased to be promoted to Partner and proud to be part of such a talented, dedicated team of corporate finance professionals. I look forward to continuing to provide our clients with the best advice we can and helping them complete the transactions and deals that are vital for their business success.”
