HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has appointed Simon Jennings as a Managing Director. Based in London, Jennings will focus on business development with distribution partners in Europe and Asia to help their private wealth clients achieve their private markets objectives.
“Over the last three decades, and especially more recently, HarbourVest has worked closely with market intermediaries globally to help meet the private markets investment needs of their family office, private bank, wealth management and institutional clients,” says Peter Wilson, Managing Director and member of the Executive Management Committee, HarbourVest. “Simon understands the needs of this market segment extremely well. We are excited to welcome him to the team.”
Jennings brings with him nearly 30 years of experience and has extensive capabilities in private equity investment, strategy, business building, client relations and fundraising. Prior to joining HarbourVest, he was the Global Head of Private Equity at HSBC where he was responsible for creating, structuring, and accessing private equity investment opportunities for private and institutional clients. Before that, Jennings held the role of Global Head of Private Equity at UBS Wealth Management. His other experience includes leadership positions at UBS AG in both London and Zurich, UBS Capital, Phildrew Ventures, and Hermes Investment Management.
Jennings received a BA in European Business Administration from the Middlesex Business School, London and a Diplom-Betriebswirt from the Fachochschule Reutlingen in Germany.
