UBS Asset Management adds to Infrastructure Debt team

UBS Asset Management’s (UBS-AM) Real Estate & Private Markets (REPM) business has appointed Stefan Rose as a Portfolio Manager in its Infrastructure Debt team.

Rose’s appointment further strengthens REPM’s USD4 billion infrastructure platform, which invests in both equity and debt, and it follows the announcement of three other senior hires last month. The team now comprises over 30 professionals located across five offices globally.

With over 17 years of experience in financing pan-European infrastructure projects Stefan brings a wealth of relevant experience with him and will report to Tommaso Albanese, Head of Infrastructure. Based in London, he will be responsible for working on the origination, analysis, due diligence and execution of investment opportunities across Europe. Stefan’s initial focus will be on the deployment of the remaining commitments of REPM’s inaugural Archmore Infrastructure Debt Platform.

Rose joins REPM from Edmond de Rothschild where he was part of the team responsible for their Infrastructure Debt Platform, investing in new transactions and the on-going management of acquired assets, specialising in transportation and social infrastructure projects. Before this, Stefan worked in the Infrastructure & PFI/PPP team at Mizuho Bank for 14 years covering the EMEA region.

Tommaso Albanese, Head of Infrastructure at REPM, says: “The appointment of Stefan further enhances both the depth of expertise and the reach of our team, as we continue to develop REPM’s Infrastructure platform. On account of the secure and long-term income that infrastructure investments provide, institutional appetite for access to this asset class is continuing in an upward trajectory. We’re responding to this by recruiting the best candidates, allowing us to act on and manage the opportunities being identified in the market, as well as to formulate innovative new products that capture the demand for the sector.”
