Context Capital Partners appoints Managing Director and Head of Business Development

Alternative investment firm Context Capital Partners has appointed Arun Gowda as a Managing Director and Head of Business Development.

In the new role, Gowda will focus on developing and managing new institutional and family office relationships, and drive Context Capital Partners’ business development process.

“Arun is a strong addition to the Context team, bringing an established track record of raising assets and developing long-term relationships with institutions for a wide range of alternative investment strategies,” says Ron Biscardi, CEO of Context Capital Partners. “We welcome him to our team and look forward to leveraging his skills and relationships to launch new investment solutions and grow our existing portfolio of managers.”

Gowda brings to Context 25 years of institutional sales, marketing and trading experience at large asset management firms and bulge-bracket investment banks. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at UBS O’Connor, where he worked on Global Business Development and helped raise more than USD1 billion in new capital for a first-time private credit fund.

Previously, Gowda was the Head of US Business Development for Guggenheim Fund Solutions, where he was responsible for the marketing of hedge fund solutions to large institutional investors. He has also held senior roles at Eventi Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley. Gowda received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and he graduated from Vanderbilt University with majors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Math.

“Context has an innovative business strategy for identifying and accelerating talented alternative fund managers by providing proven investment managers with the tools needed to succeed,” says Gowda. “I’m eager to work with the Context team to execute on this strategy and help deepen our relationships with a broad group of family offices and institutional investors.”
