MEDEF selects Omnes as MAI partner

Omnes has been selected by MEDEF, France’s largest employer federation, as a partner for the MEDEF Accelerator of Investment (MAI) platform aimed at financing SMEs.

Omnes supports MEDEF’s initiative to make it easier for SMEs to access long-term financing and is joining the MEDEF Accelerator of Investment (MAI) platform. MAI was launched in October 2017 with the aim of helping SMEs to find finance tailored to their growth needs by linking them up to long-term investors (crowdfunding websites and private investment funds). Eighteen investment funds have already been indexed, mobilising more than EUR1 billion to help grow SMEs.

This facility has been set up based on the realisation that SMEs face a lack of long-term financing to grow. Their growth requires them to adapt to the digital environment, to develop their capabilities and productivity, to innovate in technologies and products, to export internationally and to conquer new markets. With this platform, MEDEF is seeking to stimulate investment in French SMEs located in or around Paris by making it easier for them to access long-term financing.

With this partnership, Omnes is offering SMEs finance solutions tailored to their needs in equity capital and in mezzanine debt.

Omnes will also be participating in the project’s educational plan. MAI will be offering from April training sessions for executives all over France to increase their awareness of the existing finance tools and to give them tips on drafting documents and on the fundraising process. These training sessions will be provided in partnership with BNP Paribas, BPCE, EY and Mazars.

Marie-Noëlle Duval, Managing Director of MEDEF Accelerator of Investment, says: “A major new player in long-term finance, Omnes, is joining MAI to accelerate the growth of SMEs. We are delighted about this new partnership which is set to reinforce the range of finance and support available to French SMEs.”

Benjamin Arm, Managing Partner at Omnes, says: “The MEDEF facility means we can bring together entrepreneurs, regardless of the region or sector they operate in, with the long-term investors that are best placed to meet their needs, both with equity capital and debt. We are proud to be participating in this initiative, which is a perfect fit with our DNA, to create growth and jobs in our territories.”

Bertrand Desportes, Senior Manager at Mazars, says: “Our very good knowledge of the value chain of long-term financing in both debt and capital, and the ecosystem of SMEs, has enable both the project partners and MEDEF to co-create a training programme with high added value for business leaders who are up to the development challenges of the middle market.”
