Drake Star Partners announces new executive leadership structure

Technology, Media and Communications global investment bank Drake Star Partners’ co-CEOs Marc Deschamps, Gregory Bedrosian and current Chairman Martial Chaillet will be taking on new roles within the firm, as Executive Chairman, CEO and Vice-Chairman respectively.

This change in the firm’s executive leadership is a reflection of its ongoing growth and the implementation of its long-term strategy.

Following Drake Star Partners’ award-winning 2017 transaction record, the opening of its tenth office in San Francisco, the recruitment of new partners and expansion of its existing offices, this new leadership structure is the latest announcement to support the firm’s global development strategy.

Deschamps and Bedrosian have been leading Drake Star Partners and their respective, pre-merger firms since their creation back in 2004. They acted as co-CEOs of the joint entity following the firms’ merger into Drake Star Partners back in September 2016.

By activating this new leadership structure, the firm’s aim is to build on this strategy consolidation, by having both Deschamps and Bedrosian further focus their managerial efforts on a specific set of leadership responsibilities and initiatives, thus matching Drake Star Partners’ strong market share gains.

Under this new leadership structure, Executive Chairman Deschamps will oversee the firm’s strategic development, governance, brand-building, partnerships and new business development opportunities – both geared towards growing existing markets and developing new ones.

As the firm’s CEO, Bedrosian will expand on his existing responsibilities, overseeing global deal flow and client transaction execution, sourcing, team-building, day-to-day operations, strategic development and brand-building.

As the firm’s Vice-Chairman, Chaillet will focus on supporting Deschamps and the group in its strategic development.

Descahmps says: “This is the next logical step to befit our global development strategy. Having already witnessed tremendous growth, we wanted to remain pragmatic and agile when tackling our expansion plans in order to address today the needs of tomorrow’s high-growth tech entrepreneurs and funds. As Drake Star Partners’ Executive Chairman, I can focus on upper management and strategy implementation while leading the firm towards new opportunities, ranging from talent, strategic partnerships and new markets development. This is an exciting chapter in Drake Star’s growth story.”

Bedrosian says: “We have the privilege of working with great companies and great people worldwide. With an ever-growing number of client mandates and employees to manage and nurture, it became important to act now in order to best prepare our next growth stage. I welcome this change in our respective new roles as a way to best enhance our joint leadership efforts towards building tomorrow’s Drake Star Partners. My remit as CEO, leading the firm while managing our deal flow and client transaction execution globally, certainly allows us to build on our existing cross-border reach and capabilities.”
