Capricorn Private Investments appoints CIO

Capricorn Private Investments (CPI) has appointed Manoj Soni as Chief Investment Officer.

Manoj was formerly Managing Director and Head of Absolute Return and Credit at Partners Capital. CPI is the private investment office of the Capricorn Group, a family-owned global alternative asset manager.

Geoff Snelgar, Chairman of Capricorn, says; “The hiring of Manoj represents a key milestone in CPI’s growth. With Manoj’s arrival we are very well placed to execute CPI’s strategy of extending our offering to a select group of private investors with whom we are aligned in our goals, values and objectives.”

“With someone of Manoj’s calibre leading the investment team, our focus will be on diversified long-term investments, sophisticated portfolio management strategies and our own co-investment opportunities.”

Soni says: “Capricorn has very strong family office values of trust, transparency and patience, coupled with a high quality team with extensive experience from leading institutions, so this is a very attractive organisation to join. Capricorn has also been very successful at identifying highly attractive off- market investment opportunities.

“Clearly, we benefit from our place within the broader Capricorn ecosystem, which creates access to some interesting investment opportunities, third party managers, as well as our own transactions. Our offering is tailored for the client, every portfolio is entirely bespoke, and we have a strong long-term investment culture. I am looking forward to building on the work the team has done to date.”
