Vinson & Elkins’ leveraged finance practice adds new partner in London

Vinson & Elkins continues to expand its global corporate practice with the addition of leveraged finance partner Lucy Jenkins in London.

Jenkins was previously with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. She is the second partner in as many months to join V&E’s internationally recognised Leveraged Finance group in London, following the addition of Noel Hughes in September.

Jenkins joins a growing team of corporate partners in V&E’s London office. In addition to Hughes, recent arrivals include Paul Simcock in January and John Dawson and Federico Fruhbeck, who came on board in late 2017.

Operating one of the oldest London offices of any US law firm, V&E has been strengthening its bench across finance, private equity, M&A, tax and other corporate practices. V&E’s expanded team of leading practitioners in London has enabled it to deepen relationships with clients including major corporates, private equity investors, service providers and financial institutions.

“London is one of the leading finance capitals of the world, and with our recent growth we are well-positioned to service all of our clients’ global corporate finance needs,” says V&E managing partner Scott Wulfe. “Lucy is a rising star whose impressive experience and enthusiasm for building her practice is exactly what we look for in a V&E partner.”

Jenkins focusses her practice on acquisition and leveraged finance transactions, primarily related to sponsor-led M&A activity. She also has extensive experience in cross-border financing and advises on debt restructuring.

“V&E’s dedication to growing its London corporate presence over the past several years really left a great impression on me, and I am very excited to join this talented group of lawyers,” said Jenkins.

Jenkins completed her Legal Practice Course (passing with Distinction) and Postgraduate Diploma in Law (passing with Commendation) at The College of Law, London.

“Lucy is a dynamic young partner with an entrepreneurial spirit, something we really value here at V&E,” says Jeff Eldredge, co-head of the firm's Corporate Department. “During the course of her career, she’s developed solid relationships that are extremely complementary with our existing client base, and we expect her to add immediate value to our team.”
