UK venture capital firm Vala Capital has appointed Jane Holland, ex-Financial Director at investment company The Ingenious Group, as the firm’s new COO.
Holland’s appointment will help the firm grow its radical, investor-friendly EIS fund with her overseeing the management of the firm’s day to day operations.
The new COO is a chartered accountant and spent nine years at The Ingenious Group, before which she worked in other senior financial roles at companies in the food and beverage and FMCG sectors.
Holland says: “I’m very pleased to have joined Vala. I was intrigued by how the team are trying to challenge the status quo in EIS investing by offering investors something different, and I look forward to playing a part in that.”

The firm recently launched its Vala EIS Fund. The fund has a unique fee structure that means investors do not pay any initial fees, annual management charges (AMC) or administrative, audit or custodian costs. The only expense charged directly to them will be a 20 per cent performance fee on profitable exits.
The investee companies themselves will cover ongoing administration costs through a one-off 6 per cent fee on cash invested.
The Vala EIS Portfolio is MICAP-reviewed and targets a diversified range of sectors including technology, engineering, media and entertainment, fintech, lifestyle and food & beverages.
