Hetherley Capital Partners (Hetherley) has appointed three Senior Executives to its leadership team as it continues its expansion in the UK hotel real estate sector.

Previously with private equity investor EQ Group and family office MBI Holdings (owner of JJW Hotels & Resorts), Lalou joins the team with more than 20 years’ experience in hotel investment, operations and asset management. He will lead the strategic development of the firm’s managed estate portfolio and contribute to the growth of Hetherley’s capital partner base.

In addition, Jonathan Langston and Philip Shepherd both join as Senior Advisors to the Board.
Langston was previously Senior Director at CBRE Hotels, having previously held the position of Managing Director with hotel investment boutique advisor, TRI Hospitality Consulting. Having spent a career in the UK hotel investment market, Langston is a well-respected industry figure with over 40 years’ experience in hotel investment, development and asset management. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) and Chair of The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) Berlin.

Philip Shepherd joins the Hetherley team having spent 14 years as a Partner at PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC) specialising in financial and business strategy. A qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and graduate of Imperial College London, Shepherd brings with him a wealth of experience across different industry sectors, including private equity, hospitality & leisure and investment banking advisory. Shepherd will advise the board on commercial strategy, capital raising and corporate management.

Reflecting on the three appointments, Charles Scudamore, CEO of Hetherley, says: “We have been looking for some time now to consolidate our senior management team, particularly as we look to expand our presence in the UK hotel investment market. Having established a business model that delivers attractive investment returns for our investors in the UK hotel market, we are very much building for the future. The latest appointments significantly enhance our professional capabilities and improve our corporate governance structures.”
