Quantuma announces new Transaction Services offering

Business advisory firm Quantuma has launched a Transaction Services practice, appointing Jonathan Thornton as head of the team.

Thornton has over 25 years’ experience working within a big four accountancy firm, primarily in transaction services. He has extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Russia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Qatar and worked on deals across Europe, the Middle East and the US.

Throughout his career, Thornton has worked on a range of transactions of various sizes, ranging from SMEs, up to multi-billion-pound international businesses. Notable deals include the IPOs of O2 and FTSE 100 company, ENRC, alongside the acquisitions of Inmarsat, Punch Taverns and PCM. His main areas of expertise are consumer, retail, hospitality and leisure.

Based in the firm’s London office, the new transaction services team will bolster Quantuma’s corporate finance practice, offering financial due diligence services to clients across a range of sizes and sectors. Thornton will spearhead the team, working with corporates, private equity houses, banks and other debt providers that are looking to acquire or invest in businesses.

Founded in 2013, Quantuma has grown to become a GBP20 million practice employing 185 staff. Headquartered in London, the company has a strong presence across the South of England, with locations in Southampton, Marlow, Watford, Brighton and Bristol. The firm has recently opened three new offices in Nottingham, Bradford and Birmingham, following a merger with Kingsland Business Recovery, as well as opening a new Manchester base earlier in the year.

Carl Jackson, managing partner at Quantuma, says: “This new Transaction Services practice will further strengthen our corporate finance offering, bolstering the range of services and expertise that we can offer to our clients and partners. It is great to have Jonathan on board to spearhead the new team – we are confident that his wealth of knowledge and vast experience working with high profile, complex transactions and acquisitions across the globe make him well placed to support our continued growth and provide an even greater value to our clients.”

Thornton says: “Quantuma is renowned across the market for breaking the mould of a traditional professional services firm. I am very happy to be joining the company at this exciting time and to be in the position to work in an agile environment where I will have on-the-ground, day-to-day contact with clients.

“The launch of the Transaction Services practice will enable us to provide deep and thorough analysis of a company’s financials and business performance, to offer a full picture to our clients. I look forward to working with Quantuma’s outstanding team and clients across the UK.”
