Pemberton appoints Head of Investor Relations

Pemberton, a European private credit manager backed by Legal & General Group, has appointed Cary Gibson as Head of Investor Relations.

In the role, Gibson will focus on servicing Pemberton’s existing LPs and supporting business development with strengthening current and building new relationships within the investor community globally. In doing so, she will be supporting the launch of new strategies and new vintages of existing ones.

Gibson joins with significant experience in investor relations, product development and marketing, and possesses over ten years of experience in the financial services industry across traditional and alternative asset classes. She was most recently Head of Business Development at Sand Grove Capital Management. Cary started her career at JP Morgan, where she focused on debt capital markets origination.

Gibson joins at an exciting time for Pemberton. Earlier this year, the firm held two final closes raising EUR4.2 billion to invest in leading mid-market companies across Europe and has deployed EUR3.4 billion over the last 18 months. Pemberton is currently in the market to raise new capital across its strategies and has opened two new offices across Europe (Amsterdam and Copenhagen) in 2019.

Antoine Josserand, Head of Business Development at Pemberton, says: “Cary brings to the team a wealth of expertise from the alternative investments industry and her experience over the years building relationships with investors.  She is the perfect person to take Pemberton’s strong commitment to investor relations to the next level. We are continuing to see growing appetite from institutional investors and wealth managers for well-defined and successful  mid-market direct  lending, opportunistic strategies and new areas such as trade receivables finance.”

Gibson adds: “Pemberton is at a crucial stage as global demand for European mid-market direct lending continues to grow and it is attracting investors from farther afield who recognise the different opportunities across Europe. The firm’s impressive track record in deploying capital across Europe’s private credit markets is perfectly suited to the growing demands of institutional clients. I look forward to working closely with the team to further Pemberton’s growth ambitions and enhance our existing relationships while also building new ones.”
