Gridiron Capital expands business development capabilities

Gridiron Capital, an investment firm focused on partnering with founders, entrepreneurs, and management teams, has promoted Sean Kelley to Managing Director, Business Development and added and promoted Ty Black to Associate as part of the Business Development Team.

Kelley will continue to focus on developing new business partnerships, marketing to and communicating with business owners, managing investment partnership sourcing, and exit planning. He will also increase his role in marketing and building the Gridiron brand. Ty Black will become a member of Gridiron’s Business Development Team and will report to Kelley and Gridiron’s two Managing Partners, Tom Burger and Kevin Jackson.

Tom Burger, Co-founder and Managing Partner, says: “Both Sean and Ty have been valuable team members at Gridiron Capital and are being recognised for their accomplishments at the firm. Their contributions are an important part of Gridiron’s success, enabling Gridiron to differentiate itself with potential partners, including founders and management teams. Sean and Ty are high integrity individuals who enjoy building relationships directly with business owners, executives, and intermediaries and identifying investment opportunities where Gridiron can add value.”

Kevin Jackson, Managing Partner, adds: “We love having Sean and Ty on our team and we are excited to recognise their many contributions to Gridiron. They have taken on increasing levels of responsibility within the organisation and have earned respect in the market through their dedication and teamwork.”

Kelley says “We are pleased to welcome Ty to the Gridiron Business Development Team. From his experience with Gridiron’s investment team, Ty has developed a deep network of relationships within the business owner community and the ability to identify opportunities within Gridiron’s investment focus. He fits well into our Winning Together culture, and we look forward to benefiting from his experience, insights, and continued growth.”
