ARQIS advises Oerlikon on the acquisition of D-Coat

ARQIS has advised the listed Swiss technology group Oerlikon on the acquisition of D-Coat, a German supplier of diamond coating technologies. The Parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.The acquisition is a further step in Oerlikon’s strategy to strengthen its surface coating portfolio. Day-to-day operations at the existing D-Coat site as well as business and cooperation with D-Coat customers and partners will continue as before, but now with D-Coat as part of Oerlikon Balzers.

D-Coat GmbH was founded in 2006 and is one of the technology leaders in the field diamond coatings for cutting tools. This applies in particular to carbon fibre-reinforced polymers used in structures of aircraft, ships, vehicles and other areas where high reliability is required during long-term operation. 

 

Oerlikon Balzers is a leading global supplier of coatings that significantly improve the performance and durability of precision components and tools for metal and plastic processing. Worldwide, more than 1,100 coating systems are in use at Oerlikon Balzers and its customers. Development and assembly of the Balzers plants are based in Liechtenstein, Langenthal (Switzerland) and Bergisch Gladbach (Germany). Oerlikon Balzers has a dynamically growing network of over 110 coating centers in 36 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Together with Oerlikon Metco and Oerlikon AM, Oerlikon Balzers is part of the Surface Solutions segment of the Swiss Oerlikon group.
