Bowmark Capital adds two to team

Bowmark Capital, a mid-market private equity firm, has appointed Roy Mani as a partner.  Mani has over 20 years’ experience as a private equity investor, most recently at CapVest where he was head of small cap investments.

Previously, Mani was a partner at STAR Capital where he worked for 14 years, having started his career at Daiwa Europe and Credit Suisse. He has a long track record of successful investment in UK and Continental European buyouts, with a particular focus on the business services, healthcare and infrastructure sectors.

In addition, Alex McRae is also joining the firm as an investment executive. Alex brings seven years’ experience in private equity and corporate finance, including previous roles at CapVest, Quilvest and Rothschild.

The appointments follow a highly successful 12 months for Bowmark, during which it has realised its investments in CARE Fertility, the UK’s leading fertility clinic group for IVF treatment, and Aston Lark, the UK’s fifth largest chartered insurance broker – in which it also reinvested alongside Goldman Sachs’ Merchant Banking Division. During this period, Bowmark also completed the take-private of Tax Systems, the UK’s leading provider of corporation tax software and services.  In addition, it supported the buy-out of Pirum Systems, the leading provider of post-trade market infrastructure technology for the global securities finance industry, as well as 16 bolt-on acquisitions across its portfolio.

Charles Ind, managing partner, says: “We are delighted to welcome Roy and Alex whose significant experience will further broaden and strengthen our investment team.”
