IQ-EQ appoints new MD for the UK and Ireland

IQ-EQ, a global investor services group, has appointed John Legrand as Managing Director of UK and Ireland and member of its executive leadership team. The company says this key hire reflects the strategic significance of its growing UK & Ireland business.

Legrand’s 22-year career has afforded him the opportunity to operate across five continents and over 80 countries globally. Having held leadership positions both in Fortune 500 companies and multi-million-dollar FinTech start-ups, he has extensive operational and commercial expertise and is well accustomed to building businesses and leading teams delivering operational excellence.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Legrand was Managing Director for Asia Pacific with BlackRock’s alternative investment software provider, eFront. Before that, he spent 10 years with BNY Mellon in Singapore and London as Managing Director of EMEA & APAC and Head of Business Development for its Asia Pacific’s Asset Servicing division.

While at BNY Mellon he also sat on the firm’s Asia Pacific Executive and Operating committees, on its Asset Servicing Global Executive Committee, and on the boards of multiple companies. In addition, John has previously held international management roles with Advent Software and Linedata Services, further evidencing his strong credentials in investment servicing technologies.

Commenting on his appointment, Legrand says: “IQ-EQ is such a fresh and exciting name in the investor services space and I am thrilled to be joining the firm as it embarks upon the next phase of its growth journey. As a group we have ambitious plans for the UK & Ireland business and I look forward to working closely with the experienced senior leadership team to realise these plans and help drive the business to even greater success.”

IQ-EQ’s Group Chief Operating Officer, Christiaan Van Houtven, adds: “Finding the right candidate to lead our UK and Ireland operations was hugely important to us as a group and I am confident that the cluster will go from strength to strength with John at its helm. His combination of leadership skills and FinTech expertise makes him ideally suited both to the role and to IQ-EQ’s overarching strategic priorities – given our desire to continue growing the cluster across all of our core service segments while also investing heavily in technology to meet the evolving needs of our clients. John is a great addition to the team and I am delighted to be welcoming him on board.”
