MMC Ventures promotes two to partner

Venture capital fund MMC has announced two new partner appointments alongside another four promotions.2019 was a landmark year for the London-based VC, as it launched two new funds and invested more than GBP100 million in transformative technology companies across the pre-seed, seed, series A and later stages. This represents 1 per cent of the total venture capital investment in the UK in 2019 according to Tech Nation. 

In the last 12 months, MMC invested in 17 new companies, leading series A rounds for yulife, Tyk, Snowplow, Lookiero and Red Sift as well as supporting significant later-stage investments in existing portfolio companies Signal AI, Masabi, Gousto and Elder. 

The new partners and promotions are:

Oliver Richards leads MMC’s fintech investments and works with some of MMC’s most successful B2B enterprise software companies. In the last 12 months, Ollie led MMC investments including yulife, TreasurySpring and Snowplow. In 2020, his focus remains building MMC’s fintech portfolio and investing in businesses supporting London’s circular economy.

Victoria Ferguson is MMC’s General Counsel and is one of the most experienced senior lawyers in the venture industry. In addition to supporting MMC’s deal activity in 2019, Victoria negotiated MMC’s new GBP52 million seed fund and the Scale Up Fund of GBP100 million.  

Mina Samaan and Dan Bailey have both been promoted to Principal and are responsible for promising recent deals including Synthesia, Agile Analog, Senseon, Omni:us and StorageOS. 

Alexia Arts, who focuses on fintech investments, has been promoted to Investment Manager. 

Lucci Levi has been promoted to lead MMC’s new Platform and Community function. This role will support the MMC portfolio by fostering the community of entrepreneurs and operators within the MMC network, offering actionable advice and support.
