Nordic Capital appoints new partner

Nordic Capital has expanded its partner group with the promotion of Daniel Berglund, further strengthening its leadership team within two of its focus sectors; Healthcare and Technology & Payments.Berglund joined Nordic Capital Advisors in 2010 and has, since then, focused on investments in the Technology & Payments sector and Healthcare, two of Nordic Capital’s three focus sectors. He has a particular interest in Healthcare IT where Nordic Capital sees significant opportunity for investment and is able draw on its deep technology and healthcare experience. With a total of 20 Healthcare and Technology & Payments companies in its current portfolio, Nordic Capital is one of the most active European private equity investors in these sectors.

From the outset, Daniel established himself as a key member of the Technology and Payments sector team and he has been instrumental in advising on several of Nordic Capital’s major acquisitions and exits over the years, including Bambora, Trustly, ArisGlobal and ERT.

In both 2017 and 2018, Daniel was included in Real Deals’ “Future 40” list which names the top 40 dealmakers who will shape the future of European private equity. He currently serves on the boards of five of Nordic Capital’s portfolio companies and has previously been a board member of a further six companies.

“Daniel has been a formidable deal generator since early on at Nordic Capital and is excellent at portfolio company interaction. He has admirable business skills and is also a very strong representative of our collaborative and team-spirited culture. Along with the rest of the partner group, I would like to express my warmest congratulations to Daniel, as our newly promoted Partner,” says Kristoffer Melinder, Managing Partner, Nordic Capital Advisors.

“I am excited to explore new investment opportunities in two of our focus sectors, with a particular focus on Healthcare IT, and to join the partner group in order to further develop the firm,” says Berglund.
