Goodwin adds partner in London

Global law firm Goodwin has appointed James Grimwood as a partner in the firm’s private equity group in London.Grimwood advises on private equity transactions for institutions and management teams both domestically and cross border. He has a wealth of experience in handling corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and reorganisations, having acted on many large and high-profile matters. Grimwood is ranked as a ‘Leading Individual’ for Private Equity: Buyouts by Chambers UK.

The hire of Grimwood comes during an expansive period for Goodwin in Europe. The firm now has more than 120 private equity lawyers across its London, Frankfurt and Paris offices and has recently opened a private investment funds-focused office in Luxembourg. In addition, Goodwin has made high-profile investments its UK technology and life sciences bench. The firm’s European offices have grown to nearly 200 lawyers, almost all of whom are dedicated to the private equity, technology, life sciences and real estate industries.
 
Grimwood received his law degree from King’s College London and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
