Cavendish appoints new partner in M&A advisory business

Cavendish Corporate Finance, the UK’s leading mid-market M&A firm and part of the finnCap Group, today announces that it has appointed highly experienced M&A specialist Karri Vuori as a Partner.  Over his career to date, Vuori has developed particular expertise in working alongside ECM colleagues to offer clients a seamless service covering M&A, IPO and debt advisory including dual track processes. Prior to joining Cavendish, Vuori was Head of M&A at investment bank Liberum Capital where he founded Liberum’s integrated M&A and sponsor coverage practice. Before this, Vuori was Head of M&A at Panmure Gordon & Co, developing a fully integrated M&A practice alongside its core ECM business. Further experience includes five years at Charles Stanley Securities where Karri was responsible for rapidly growing the firm’s M&A advisory practice and initiating the firm’s private equity coverage. Vuori has extensive experience across a broad range of sectors and deal types including public and private, buyside and sellside, as well as domestic and cross-border transactions, and brings particular specialism in deals involving UK mid-market private equity firms.

Vuori’s appointment comes shortly after the senior hire of Anthony Platt as Partner, signalling a period of strong and sustained growth for Cavendish, which has seen particular success recently in the technology sector. Deals the team has advised on include the sale in August this year of fast-growing legal SaaS firm CaseLines to Thomson Reuters, as the business intelligence and information firm looked to expand its cloud-based software offering within the legal sector, and the sale of Improve International by aquaculture health, nutrition and genetics business Benchmark Holdings.

Sam Smith, Chief Executive of finnCap, comments: “I am delighted to welcome Karri to Cavendish and the wider finnCap Group, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to deepen our mid-market expertise. Karri brings extensive experience, broad sector knowledge, an innovative mindset, and a desire to help the types of ambitious growth businesses that finnCap Group specialises in supporting with a full suite of financial services.”

Vuori says: “I am extremely excited to be joining Cavendish and finnCap at such an exciting period of growth for the team. finnCap has a strong, integrated offering across M&A, IPO and debt advisory that I am looking forward to being part of, and I have no doubt that I will enjoy working with the finnCap Group’s multi-talented team and helping the firm and its clients continue to grow.”
