Cliffwater, an alternatives advisory and asset management firm, has appointed Frances Beyers as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets in the firm’s Private Debt Group effective 1 November.Beyers will be responsible for market research to support Cliffwater’s rapidly growing multi-manager private debt asset management business.
Beyers joins Cliffwater from Refinitiv, where she was Head of Middle Market Loan Analysis. Most notably Beyers has been a fixture in the middle market for over a decade providing market analysis to both managers and investors alike. While at Refinitiv and its predecessor, Beyers frequently authored middle market commentaries and surveys that have been cited industry-wide and made her a sought-after speaker at private debt conferences.
“I have known Fran for almost ten years now and view her among the industry’s ‘Top 5’ in middle market research. We were fortunate to entice her to our firm,” says Cliffwater CEO Stephen Nesbitt.

Beyers will be based in Cliffwater’s New York City office. Her previous roles include underwriting and portfolio management at Churchill Asset Management, and she began her career in Corporate Finance Advisory at JPMorgan. Beyers earned her bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St Louis.
