HIG Capital adds MD to infrastructure team

HIG Capital (HIG) has appointed Ahmad Atwan as a Managing Director in its infrastructure team. Atwan will be responsible for all aspects of the investment process including origination, transaction structuring, financing and execution of post-closing strategies.

Atwan has over 20 years of experience as a private equity investor, operating executive, and entrepreneur. Before joining HIG, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, where he led a number of successful transactions and served as a Board Director of multiple portfolio companies. Prior to that, Ahmad was a Managing Director at BlackRock’s Global Private Equity Group, where he served as the Head of Energy and Resources investing.

Ed Pallesen, who co-leads HIG’s infrastructure team, adds: “We are excited to welcome Ahmad to HIG His impressive background and experience in infrastructure investing will be instrumental to the team as we continue to grow.”

HIG’s infrastructure investments are focused on mid-market opportunities and target mostly operating companies that can benefit from HIG’s value added operating expertise. HIG has previously completed more than a dozen such investments.
