Sherpa Capital adds Investment Director to special situations team
Sherpa Capital, an Iberian private equity fund manager specialising in medium-sized companies, has appointed Isaac Lahuerta as an Investment Director in the firm's special situations team.
Lahuerta joins Sherpa Capital after working for more than two-and-a-half years as a Principal at private equity firm BTC, where he made debt and equity investments in companies in special situations.
Before that, he served as an investment analyst in London for global investment firm Avenue Capital Group, which specialises in distressed investments.
With more than five years of investment experience in special situations, Lahuerta started his professional career in Deutsche Bank in London, where he worked as an analyst and as an associate in the M&A Industrials and Leveraged Finance teams.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya as well as an MSc in Management, with a major in Finance, from international business school HEC Paris.
Lahuerta joins the Sherpa Capital investment team a few months after the firm reached a final close of EUR120 million for its new special situations fund Sherpa Special Situations III. Like the predecessor vehicles, the investment strategy of the fund focuses on companies facing transformation situations due to the economic environment or as a result of some extraordinary situation of a strategic, operational, financial or shareholding structure nature.
Sherpa Special Situations III plans to make between 8 and 10 investments, writing equity tickets of between EUR10 million and EUR25 million, in companies of different economic sectors with turnover between EUR20 million and EUR300 million.
