Exponent appoints Head of Benelux

Exponent has appointed Jeroen Regeur as Head of Benelux, with a view to Exponent opening an office in Amsterdam.Regeur will be responsible for building out Exponent’s Benelux business while also generating and executing transactions in the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and other European markets within Exponent’s key sectors of Business Services, Consumer, Financial Services, and Media. Regeur will split his time between Amsterdam and London.

Prior to joining Exponent, Regeur was a Managing Director at EQT Partners, where he helped establish the firm’s Benelux business. Prior to joining EQT Partners he worked at TPG Capital and Morgan Stanley in London.

Exponent’s expansion into the Benelux is a natural step for the firm, as it extends its investment focus and further establishes its presence across Europe. In recent years Exponent has been increasingly active outside of the UK and Ireland, with the majority of portfolio company revenues and add-on acquisitions in Funds III and IV coming from outside of these traditional home markets.

The establishment of a future presence in the Benelux builds on the firm’s successful acquisitions in the region of the garden care business Pokon in June 2018 and the leading e-commerce business Greetz in August 2018, both completed by Exponent portfolio companies.

Chris Graham says: “We are delighted to have someone of Jeroen’s calibre joining the Exponent team. He will be able to draw from his extensive international private equity experience as we look to partner with more businesses in Europe to help them realise their potential and unlock meaningful growth.”

Regeur says: “I am very excited to be joining Exponent. It has a fantastic team and a clear strategy that will resonate in the Benelux and other European markets. I look forward to working with my new colleagues on investments across Europe and on building Exponent’s presence in the Benelux region.”
