Duff & Phelps appoints Senior Director in Restructuring Advisory practice

Duff & Phelps, the world’s premier provider of governance, risk and transparency solutions, today announced that it has appointed Kris Carpen as Senior Director within its Global Restructuring Advisory practice, based in London.

Carpen has over 20 years of experience in providing restructuring advise and support to underperforming businesses and their stakeholders. He joins Duff & Phelps after three years as a director of restructuring at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). Prior to joining A&M, Carpen spent two and a half years with Monitor, the English Healthcare Regulator, and before that over 14 years with KPMG’s restructuring team.
David Fleming, Managing Director and Head of UK Restructuring Advisory, Duff & Phelps, says: “Kris has worked across a number of restructuring areas ranging from cash and working capital mangement, independent business reviews, operational turnarounds as well as trading administrations. He has an impressive engagement record in which he has successfully preserved and maximised value for  a variety of stakeholders and he will be a welcome addition to the growing Restructuring Advisory team here in London and throughout the world.”
While Carpen has worked with clients of all sizes from large listed entities to small owner managed businesses, his focus will be on the mid market, bringing with him detailed knowledge of healthcare, airlines, professional services, retail, telecommunications and entertainment.
Carpen adds: "I am absolutely delighted to join Duff & Phelps and one of the fast growing restructuring teams in the UK. I believe I have joined a truly dynamic and entrepreneurial team at Duff & Phelps in what is one of the most challenging and demanding times, and look forward to continuing to concentrate on the middle market in my new role.”
