GCP exits investment in Infinity Works

Growth Capital Partners (GCP), a UK mid-market private equity firm that specialises in partnering with owner-managers, has exited its investment in Infinity Works, one of the UK’s leading digital transformation consultancies.

Infinity Works is being acquired by global professional services company Accenture.

GCP invested in Infinity Works in March 2019 as a supportive minority partner to the founder management team. During the last two years, GCP’s support and investment has enabled Infinity Works to evolve the service proposition of the business, strengthen management and significantly grow headcount, revenue, and profitability.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Leeds, Infinity Works’ team of 440 highly-skilled people specialise in using agile and cloud-first approaches to enable some of the UK’s most recognised businesses to digitally transform. From tier-one retail to financial services, Infinity Works provides a range of value-add services including data, cloud, design and research, and full-stack engineering. In 2020, the company was recognised by the Financial Times as one of the UK’s leading management consultants.

Paul Henshaw, Co-founder at Infinity Works, says: “I would like to thank the GCP team for their invaluable support over the last couple of years. GCP’s sector knowledge and experience have played a vital role in helping us scale by strengthening our talent and service offerings while retaining our unique values. GCP understood our model and identified with our culture from day one. Their investment has enabled us to accelerate our growth and exploit the strong market opportunity for digital transformation services. GCP’s involvement has been instrumental in us realising this outcome and continuing our journey with Accenture.”

Alex Thomson, Investment Director at GCP, says: ”It has been an exciting and rewarding experience being a partner to Infinity Works and supporting the senior leadership team. Paul, Matt and the other founders had created a really special business when we originally invested; a culture that was underpinned by technical excellence but was also built on delivering for clients, humility and having fun along the way – we completely bought into that. Even though Infinity Works has grown significantly over the last couple of years, we are really proud that the unique culture persists in the business. We believe that Accenture will be a fantastic home for the Infinity Works team and help it go on to achieve even greater things.”
