Time Partners makes three new hires

Investment advisory firm Time Partners has expanded its team with three new hires – Crispin Payne, Ed Stubbings and James Morrison.

As chief transactions & operating officer, Payne will be responsible for leading internal operations and for providing advice to clients on private markets transactions. His focus will be to lead a collaborative team with strong, efficient processes to support the growth of Time Partners and support the client advisory teams with advice on private equity structures.

After an early advisory career with Hambros Bank and The Kalchas Group, Payne became a private equity investor with Dresdner Kleinwort Capital in the European technology team, before joining Coller Capital in 2002. After six years in the Coller investment team focusing on complex GP-led portfolio transactions and supporting the raising of Coller’s fifth fund, CIP V, Crispin became a risk partner in 2009. In this role, he not only played a lead role in diligencing and pricing the firm’s investments, but was also responsible for developing Coller’s investment processes, systems and methodologies. In 2017, Crispin joined Displaydata, an early leader in the market for electronic shelf labels in Europe and the United States, where was responsible for raising equity finance and leading business process development.

Stubbings joins as a member of Time Partners’ strategic advisory practice focusing on investment vehicle structuring and creation, fund raising and direct opportunities. Prior to Time Partners, Stubbings spent six years as a founding team member of the global placement agent BearTooth Advisors, and subsequently was a member of the Houlihan Lokey Private Funds Group following the acquisition of the former in 2018. He began his career in Leveraged Finance at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During his career, Stubbings has advised private capital managers on the structuring and raising of permanent capital, closed-ended fund capital, single deal financing and has provided extensive strategic advice on investor relations, marketing and communications initiatives.

An economics and finance graduate from Heriot-Watt University, Morrison joins the firm as an analyst, supporting the team across all areas of business. He began his career as an origination analyst at Dunedin LLP, an Edinburgh-based private equity firm focusing on mid-market buyouts in business and financial services, where he focused on the discovery of new investment opportunities and internal business development projects.

Mark Florman, Chairman & Chief Executive, Time Partners, says: “We are delighted to welcome Crispin, Ed and James to our ever-growing team. Their previous experience and knowledge of the private equity space will be incredibly valuable to the team and we are looking forward to seeing them grow and develop as part of the Time Partners family.”
