finnCap Cavendish advises on sale of Smart Apprentices to Advanced

finnCap Cavendish (Cavendish), part of financial advisory firm, finnCap Group, has advised the technology company, Smart Apprentices, on its sale to Advanced, the British software and services provider.

Founded in 2010, Smart Apprentices has developed a leading position in the recruitment, management and assessment of workplace apprentices across both workplace and classroom learning.

The acquisition will strengthen Advanced’s position in the further education, skills and learning sector which will prove to be critical as the UK undergoes one of the largest reforms of skills and education as it emerges from the pandemic.

The deal, which was led by Andrew Jeffs at finnCap Cavendish, represents a great step forward in the support of vocational training and the narrowing of the UK skill gap.

Andrew Jeffs, Partner at finnCap Cavendish, says: “We are delighted to have advised Smart Apprentices on this successful transaction. The combination will provide a natural home to the team at Smart Apprentices and enable Advanced to accelerate its growth plans as the need for a new approach to learning and skills development evolves.”

Fiona Hudson-Kelly, Founder of Smart Apprentices, says: “This acquisition represents a hugely exciting chapter in our company’s development.  There is enormous synergy between Advanced and Smart Apprentices and we see a huge opportunity to capitalize on the renewed focus we’re seeing on vocational learning.”
