Global law firm Dechert is growing its global private equity practice with the addition of Dominik Stühler as a corporate and securities partner in the firm’s Munich office.

Stühler will focus his practice on national and cross-border private equity deals and mergers and acquisitions. Some of Stühler’s high-profile mandates include advising Hg on the sale of STP Group, Apax Partners and its portfolio Neuraxpharm on the acquisition of Buccolam, Summit Partners on the initial public offerings of Westwing Group AG and Global Fashion Group and PAI Partners on the acquisition of Armacell Group from Blackstone as well as on the contemplated acquisitions of IFCO and Ammeraal Beltech.

Stühler is recognised as a “frequently recommended” lawyer for private equity by JUVE. He is admitted as a lawyer in Germany and holds dual graduate degrees in law and business administration from University of Regensburg in Germany as well as an MBA from Vlerick Business School in Leuven, Belgium.

Mark Thierfelder, chair of Dechert’s corporate and securities group and chair of the firm’s global private equity practice, says: “Dominik is a prominent addition to Dechert. He brings a wide range of substantial experience advising private equity and strategic investors on complex leveraged buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions, which will be of great value to our clients in Germany and around the world.”

Federico Pappalardo, managing partner of Dechert’s Munich and Frankfurt offices, adds: “Dominik is an exceptional lawyer. His talent and reputation will bolster our private equity presence in Germany and more broadly throughout Europe.”

Dechert is among the most active law firms in the private equity industry, having invested significantly in growing its global private equity platform to advise clients wherever they do business. The global team comprises more than 250 lawyers globally across 17 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and represents a growing roster of more than 300 private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other alternative asset managers.

Recognised as an international private equity powerhouse, Dechert has been named a top private equity law firm by Bloomberg, Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, The Deal, Law360, IFLR1000, Private Equity International, PitchBook, Preqin and JUVE.
