DLA Piper boosts London investment management and funds offering with partner hire

DLA Piper announces the appointment of Jonny Powling as a partner in its Corporate practice, based in London.

Powling joined the firm on 1 June from Addleshaw Goddard, where he has been a partner since 2016. He has extensive experience advising all market participants on private fund matters and acts for a broad range of clients including both managers and investors on fund establishment, fund structuring, primary and secondary fund investments, co-investments and secondary sales and purchases. Powling practices across a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on private equity and real estate – also advising on joint ventures and “corporate wrapped” acquisitions and disposals in the real estate sector.

Bob Bishop, Global Co-chair of DLA Piper’s Corporate Group, comments: “Jonny’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to continue to invest in our London Funds practice. His industry focus complements our firm’s strategic priorities and his arrival will add strength to our existing investment management and funds capabilities and enhance our market position.”

Charles Cook, DLA Piper’s UK Head of Corporate, adds: “We are delighted to welcome Jonny to the team. His arrival further enhances our integrated offering across the full investment funds spectrum and in particular adds further strength to our corporate real estate practice.”
