O’Melveny welcomes technology partners to Silicon Valley and Century City

O’Melveny announced today that technology-focused lawyers Adit Khorana and Dan Wu have joined the firm as partners based in Silicon Valley and Century City, respectively.

The addition of Khorana and Wu further strengthens O’Melveny’s team in two important US innovation hubs, and bolsters the firm’s ability to support technology companies at every stage of the corporate life cycle—from early-stage start-ups to multi-billion-dollar global enterprises.
Both Khorana and Wu come to O’Melveny from other AmLaw 100 firms.

Khorana, ranked by Chambers USA as one of the nation’s top technology transactions lawyers, advises technology companies on structuring and negotiating complex, value-creating transactions, including strategic alliances, joint ventures, collaboration and partnering arrangements, acquisitions and spin-offs, licensing, development, and distribution agreements, and litigation settlements—many of them cross-border in nature.

Wu, recently named among the Most Influential Minority Attorneys by Los Angeles Business Journal, counsels founders and top-tier investors to support the growth of innovative and emerging companies. He has provided legal and strategic advice to companies, investors, buyers, and sellers in hundreds of venture capital and M&A transactions, having a total value in excess of USD10 billion. Wu brings particular expertise in the consumer internet, digital media, SaaS, video gaming, e-commerce, FinTech, and virtual reality sectors. In 2020, Wu was named to the Class of Fellows for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

“Adit and Dan both possess qualities that are emblematic of O’Melveny,” says O’Melveny chair Bradley J Butwin. “They are proven, trusted advisors to clients who call on them for their most important and complex work. And they approach their practices with tireless dedication to helping clients achieve their goals. We are delighted to welcome them to the firm.”

The arrival of Khorana and Wu reflects not only O’Melveny’s commitment to deepening the firm’s acclaimed roster of technology-focused lawyers and to further expand its reach into global tech hotspots, but also the firm’s dedication to recruiting outstanding diverse lawyers.

“O’Melveny provides the ideal platform for technology companies to stay ahead of the curve in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace,” says Khorana. “The firm is well-regarded as an industry leader and innovator, with a collaborative and integrated approach to client service that provides an immediate benefit to companies in Silicon Valley and beyond. I am excited to build on the firm’s outstanding record of excellence.”

“I started my legal career at O’Melveny out of law school and I am thrilled to return—and eager to work with the firm’s emerging technologies team to help cultivate the next generation of technology leaders in Southern California and globally,” adds Wu.

Khorana earned a BS in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, graduating summa cum laude. He earned a JD from Stanford Law School.

Wu earned a BA in Government from Claremont McKenna College, graduating magna cum laude. He earned a JD from the UCLA School of Law and an MBA from the INSEAD business school.
