Procuritas’ Medtanken platform appoints new Chairperson

Procuritas Capital Investors VI (Procuritas), a private equity investor focused on investing in and growing Nordic mid-market companies, has appointed Lena Hofsberger as the new Chairperson of its portfolio company Medtanken, a leading primary care group in Western Sweden.

Hofsberger has extensive experience in the healthcare industry and of chairing the boards of companies in the sector. Since 2012, she has been the Chairperson of the Board of the care company Ambea and in 2018 was the first woman to receive an award for Nordic region’s best chairperson, Chair of the Year, for her many years of work in this role. She is also chair of PharmaRelations, the life sciences consulting group, and was previously CEO of care provider Aleris.

With its passion for building strong sustainable businesses through transformational growth, Procuritas is facilitating accelerated development, through multi-regional and digital expansion of the group and strengthening of its management team. This appointment follows the announcements of Medtanken’s bolt-on growth acquisitions Kvarterskliniken and Citysjukhuset in May of this year.

“We are delighted to have appointed someone with Lena’s calibre and depth of experience in the healthcare arena to chair Medtanken as it embarks on its transformational growth journey. With two bolt-on acquisitions already completed, the company is rapidly expanding its footprint and service offering. We look forward to seeing Medtanken flourish over the next few years and becoming a leading player within the Swedish healthcare market,” says Oskar Lindholm-Wu, Partner, Procuritas.

Lena Hofsberger, Chair of Medtanken, says: “It is a real pleasure to work with Procuritas and the team at Medtanken to help implement such an exciting transformational growth program, expanding the clinical care offering and geographical footprint of the company.”
