Perwyn appoints new Associate

Perwyn has appointed Mike Rothwell as an Associate. He will be based in Perwyn’s London office and will sit in the Perwyn Growth Capital team, which has had a record year in 2021.

This is the fourth hire Perwyn has made this year as the business continues to expand.

Rothwell joins Perwyn from BDO, where he has been a Senior Manager, with technology being a key focus right across his career. In his role at BDO, Rothwell was a member of their M&A TMT team, focusing on mid-market technology deals. Rothwell has worked on a number of high profile transactions, namely the secondary buy-out of Agilitas IT Solutions by Perwyn in November 2020. Agilitas is the leading global IT channel solution, delivering inventory-as-a-service solutions as well as technical, lifecycle and training services.

Rothwell’s other transactions include the sale of contact centres business FourNet in Jun 2021, the sale of Edtech business Sahara to NASDAQ listed Boxlight in November 2020, and the acquisition of PPM Systems by BAE in March 2021.

Prior to that, Rothwell, who is ACA and CFA qualified, sat in the Financial Services Audit team working with a number of high profile fintech businesses.

Andrew Wynn, Founder and Managing Partner, says: “We have been impressed by Mike’s depth of knowledge.  It was immediately clear to us that his experience across a number of technology transactions is far beyond what could reasonably have been expected from him at this stage in his career. We are extremely pleased to have appointed someone of his calibre to our team.

“Mike has worked with many tech and telecoms businesses and given our focus on and recent investments in these sectors it was necessary to again grow our team, and in Mike we found the perfect candidate. We are delighted to have appointed four new members to our team this year, at all levels of the business, in line with the scaling up of our activities.”
