Alavrez & Marsal expands global transaction advisory group into Geneva

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) into Geneva, with the appointment of Amaury Bonnaire as Managing Director.

Following  the arrival of Managing Directors Cristina Almeida and Ignacio Basagoiti in Madrid and Ali Anwar, in Dubai, Bonnaire’s hire aligns with A&M’s strategic plan to expand its EMEA footprint in response to growing market demand.

Bonnaire advises corporate and private equity clients on integrated approaches for maximising value and generating growth. He specialises in buy and sell-side due diligence, share and purchase agreement advice, carve-out accounts and post-deal support.

Complementing Global Transaction Advisory Group existing teams, Bonnaire’s arrival further augments the worldwide network of leaders with specific regional expertise and in-depth cross-border M&A experience. He has led numerous transactions in Switzerland, Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa and the Pacific. Additionally, he has worked with clients across multiple industries, including energy and natural resources, consumer products, retail, healthcare and technology.

Prior to joining A&M, Bonnaire served in multiple roles at EY and Arthur Andersen, beginning his career in audit and then transferring his focus to transaction advisory. Most recently, he served as a strategy and transactions leader directing a team of due diligence, M&A, valuation, integration and separation and real estate professionals in Western Switzerland.

Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, says: “The M&A market’s continued growth supports our expanding transaction advisory footprint and our commitment to maximize opportunities for clients around the world. Amaury’s extensive domestic and international experience furthers our ability to deliver seamless cross-border transaction solutions to complex M&A problems. Our growing geographic footprint extends A&M’s reach to help private equity firms and corporates navigate current and future challenges.”

Sean Peyer, a Zurich-based Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, says: “The Swiss M&A market is rebounding from declines in 2020 following the pandemic. As deal making picks up regionally, alongside record level flows across Europe, Amaury’s combined local and global M&A expertise will help clients create value. His background dovetails with A&M’s operational heritage and reflects our leadership, action, results credo.”

“A&M’s integrated platform, commitment to drive change, freedom from audit conflicts and hands-on senior leader involvement are critical market differentiators from a regional, pan-European and international perspective,” says Bonnaire. “Clients know that A&M is equipped to support them at every stage along the deal lifecycle.”
