Bain considering Works sale at $2bn valuation

Bain Capital is considering selling human resources software developer Works Human Intelligence Co (Works) for as much as $ 2 billion, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that the private equity firm is already working with an adviser on the details of a potential deal and has been in touch with potential buyers. It’s reported that Bain is open to either a sale of its full stake in Works or a partial sale.

Founded in 1996 as Works Applications Co., Works is a Tokyo-based company offering software for payrolls, attendance management, talent management, and a human resources chatbot, according to its website. It went public in Japan in 2001 before being taken private and and delisted in a management buyout ten years later. In August 2019 and renamed the business as Works Human Intelligence.
