Global Investment firm Carlyle has launched Telis Energy (Telis), a newly created renewables platform to develop renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar, in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany, but a view to expand to other markets in Europe.

Headquartered in London, Telis will develop and partner on high-quality renewable energy projects and seeks to play a significant role in the European energy transition, with a target project pipeline of more than 10GW in place by 2030. Telis will be led by CEO Adrien Pinsard, an industry veteran with more than 16 years of experience managing and building renewable energy businesses across Europe. Alongside his leadership team, he will be responsible for identifying, planning, and executing on development and investment opportunities for Telis.

Carlyle sees renewables as core to its infrastructure strategy and seeks to capture the significant opportunities globally. In 2021, Carlyle launched Copia Power, a large-scale renewable development platform in the US, which will start construction on more than 1GW of projects in 2023 and has accumulated a pipeline of more than 16GW under development.

Telis’ launch builds on the strong momentum behind renewables investment and development and Carlyle’s experience in this sector. Since December 2018, Carlyle has deployed approximately $1.2 billion globally into renewable assets, such as solar and wind, as of 30 September, 2022.
