Samos Energy acquires Petrofirst Infrastructure

Samos Energy, a newly formed upstream energy investment platform, has made its first acquisition with a deal to acquire 100% of the shares of the PetroFirst Infrastructure companies from Petrofac and funds managed by BlackRock Infrastructure.

Samos Energy, a newly formed upstream energy investment platform, has made its first acquisition with a deal to acquire 100% of the shares of the PetroFirst Infrastructure companies from Petrofac and funds managed by BlackRock Infrastructure.

PetroFirst is a floating energy infrastructure owner with its fleet of three offshore production vessels currently chartered in Southeast Asia.

The vessels are the Jasmine Venture MV7 FPSO, Lewek EMAS FPSO and West Desaru MOPU, which are contracted under charter agreements to Valeura Energy in Thailand for the Jasmine field, Harbour Energy in Vietnam for the Chim Sao field, and Petrofac (as Operator) in Malaysia for the West Desaru field in Block PM304.

Charter contracts on the three assets will continue with no change following the deal.

Samos says it is pursuing further acquisitions of global upstream energy assets in developed basins and jurisdictions with focus on Asia, Africa and South America.
