New York-based private equity firm Clarion Capital Partners has closed its fourth fund, Clarion Investors IV, with $677m in total capital commitments, exceeding its fundraising target of $600m and a $650m soft cap.

In a statement, Marc Utay, Managing Partner at Clarion, said: “We deeply appreciate the support of existing and new limited partners, all of whom are placing their trust in Clarion’s culture and best-in-class team.

“We’re proud to have exceeded our initial target, and our developing leadership team looks forward to delivering more great results in the coming years.”

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, & Garrison served as legal counsel.

In addition, the firm recently promoted David Ragins to President of Private Equity. Utay, who also founded Clarion, will continue to serve as Managing Partner.

Clarion was founded in 1999 and operates two primary business segments: private equity, which launched in 2000; and structured credit, which launched in 2018.
