Equiteq has advised ACE International Consultants on its sale to AECOM Technology Corporation.
The deal was completed on 10 July 2014.
Equiteq is a consulting sector merger and acquisition specialist, providing both growth advisory and M&A transaction services to the global consulting and IT services industry.
ACE is an international development consulting business delivering economic and project management consultancy to governments in emerging economies, primarily financed by development-aid funds such as EuropeAid and the UK’s Department for International Development.
Antonio Bonet, founder and CEO of ACE, says: “We first met Equiteq several years ago when they brought a relevant and potential acquisition to us, so with their sector knowledge they were the obvious partner to work with once we came to launch our own transaction process. I am delighted with their approach and the outcome, where we have secured a deal that is to the benefit of all ACE’s stakeholders; management, staff, consultants, customers, donors and shareholders.”
Bruce Ramsay, Equiteq’s lead advisor to ACE, says: “Many consultants in this industry focus just on the delivery of a range of projects, and expect to build value just from their revenues. Antonio and his team invested in their underlying methodologies, building a single system to support the process from initial market news on potential projects, through all aspects of bidding and project management, right through to invoicing. It was this tight measurement and management of the business, combined with the sector focus, that created the revenue growth and an attractive target for potential acquirers.”
