Fundraising for private funds has surged over the past year, as the US and global economies rebound from the shock of Covid-19, according to TMF Group’s CFO Insights 2022, a global survey on how private funds CFOs view the current state of the industry. In fact, almost three quarters of CFO respondents currently raising a fund are aiming for a larger pool of capital than for Q4, reflecting the buoyancy of private markets.

Clessidra Private Equity SGR has acquired Viabizzuno, an Italian company specialising in the production of lighting projects in the premium/high-end sector for retail and residential clients, offices and hospitality, from 21 Invest.
Founded by Alessandro Benetton, 21 Invest acquired a controlling stake in Viabizzuno in 2011.
The investment marks the second transaction of Clessidra Capital Partners 4 fund, which held its first closing last June. Connection Capital, a specialist private client investment business, has appointed Anas Afzal as Fund Associate in its Alternative Funds.
Afzal joins from Aberdeen Standard where he was a Portfolio Analyst on the Fixed Income team. He will work alongside Head of Funds, Lorna Robertson, to source and identify specialist fund managers that the company believes will be attractive to clients and complementary to its existing fund portfolio which spans strategies from private credit to venture capital.
Growth investor Vitruvian Partners has a made a EUR45 million Series C investment in Enfuce, a European Card-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform for modern card issuing and processing.
The new capital will be used to further accelerate growth internationally as well as development of the Company’s technology platform.

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is to acquire Quantile Group Ltd, a provider of portfolio optimisation services for the global financial markets.
As part of LSEG, Quantile will operate as a standalone entity within the Post Trade division, reporting to Daniel Maguire, LSEG’s Group Head of Post Trade. Quantile will continue to be led by its CEO and co-founder, Andrew Williams.
In January 2021, Quantile received USD51 million in growth investment from Spectrum Equity, a growth equity firm focused on internet-enabled software and information services companies.
Mid-market private equity firm LDC has exited its investment in SRL Traffic Systems, a provider of portable and temporary traffic equipment, to 3i Infrastructure plc.
LDC backed the Cheshire-headquartered business in September 2019, investing GBP24 million to support the management team’s ambitious growth strategy. The exit generates a 5.7x money multiple for LDC on its original investment and an internal rate of return of 124 per cent.
