Halfords is to use the proceeds of a GBP63.4 million share placing representing 9.9 per cent of previously issued share capital, to acquire tyre and automotive servicing business, Axle Group Holdings. Efficiencies from the deal are expected to add GBP18 million to Halfords cash profits by year five, with a third of that coming in year one.
The group believes the acquisition is “both strategically and financially compelling, delivering on Halfords’ objective of evolving into a business more heavily weighted towards Motoring Services.”
Halfords shares rose 5.5 per cent following the announcement.

Prometheus Group, a global provider of asset management operations and optimization software backed by Genstar Capital, has acquired Ventureforth, an Atlanta-based Oracle partner specialising in mobile apps and cloud solutions for asset maintenance, supply chain, work management, and more.
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
For over 25 years, Ventureforth has been a leader in mobilising Oracle, providing software solutions for essential workers in industries across the globe from manufacturing to facilities management to oil and gas, and other asset intensive industries.

ClearCourse Partnership, a group of technology companies providing integrated software solutions, is to acquire Secure Collections, a Bacs-approved Direct Debit Bureau based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Secure Collections will join the Group’s rapidly growing Payments division and will bolster its direct debit offering, ClearDebit.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Cennox, a portfolio company of York Capital Management’s private equity group (York Private Equity), has acquired FireKing Safety and Security (FireKing), a US-based financial safe and services business previously owned by Pfingsten Partners.
